For more than 60 years, CASHO has been promoting the interests of Connecticut cities and towns to ensure that municipalities get their fax share of funding for local public works programs.  In fact, CASHO was in the forefront in the creation of the Town Aid Fund and the LocCIP program.

CASHO is the premier organization in the Northeast for educating public works officials about new equipment, materials and techniques – and other matters critical for those of us dedicated to ensuring the safety of Connecticut’s streets and highways. 

Each year we host numerous special events that enhance professional development and build camaraderie, including:

·        The annual CASHO Equipment/Technical Show (the largest show of its kind in New England)

·        The CASHO Truck Fleet Seminar that brings together major truck, engine and component manufacturers from across the nation

·        Technical seminars on maintenance, repair and safety issues important to our industry

·        Our increasingly popular (and highly competitive) Snow Plow Safety Roadeo

·        Field trips to places of interest, such as Boston’s “Big Dig”

·        CASHO’s Annual Golf Outing at Tunxis Plantation

·        Highways and Byways, our magazine, over 1000 copies distributed

·        And much, much more…

Today, more than 145 Connecticut municipalities enjoy the benefits of CASHO membership.  With their support, and the support of more than 350 members (comprised of  Public Work Directors, City Engineers, Mayors, Selectman, State Legislatures, Senators, Connecticut Public Works Department Heads – all of whom are decision makers for the State and Municipalities, Vendors and etc.) we have made a real difference.

Regular Member:

Regular Membership will be considered for any person who is directly engaged in an official capacity in public works, water & sewer, parks maintenance, etc. related activities in any municipal government or quasi-governmental agency or unit, or any elected municipal official or municipal employee who directly supervises public works activities in their communities.  Also, any official or employee of the Connecticut Department of Transportation (Connecticut DOT), Connecticut Department of Public Works (Connecticut DPW), Connecticut Department of Administrative Services (Connecticut DAS) or any employee of the State of Connecticut who's responsibilities include those stated above.

Associate Member:

Associate Membership will be considered for any person who, by means of his or her position, provides support to the various public works functions.  This support includes but is not limited to equipment vendors, new technologies, products and processes, safety methods and procedures, consulting services, advancement of the interests of CASHO, Inc., etc.
